Book Fair 2013

Dear Parents and students,
It's that time of year again! I have already been planning our popular book fair for the month of October. As soon as all the plans are finalized I will post the dates that the book fair will run. So get ready and start putting together that wish list of all the books you want to read. Make sure to stop by and give me the names of titles you absolutely would like to get at the fair. I will be happy to ask for them.

A New Year...a new look!

Welcome back to a new year at Lorna Jackson.
As I look back on the year that went by, I am proud to say that the Learning Commons at LJPS has undergone a wonderful transformation. Many students, present and past, as well as parents and staff have lent their expertise, time and energy to make this happen. So I must take this opportunity to thank them and applaud them for all that they did - for free. I must also say thank you to the parent council for their support - both financial and emotional. I could not have done this without them. I am happy to say that a number of our students have already toured the Learning Commons and have displayed their excitement at the change. Enjoy our new look and I am sure we will be spending many happy hours learning and playing together in it.

Book Fair Update

Thank you parents, staff, students and volunteers who supported our school's book fair. It was a wonderful four days where avid readers came in to look at and choose stories written by their favourite authors. It was a successful event that will result in further building our school library. I have a wish list from students across the grades that will be my first consideration. We're off to a flying start in the Learning Commons at LJPS!

Book Fair Thursday

A big Thank You to parents and students who have visited and supported our Book Fair. We are doing quite well so far. For Thursday evening the Book Fair will be open from 5:45 p.m. so that parents can visit with their children. I look forward to seeing you there.

Book Fair - ready to go!

The Book Fair is all set up and ready to go! Be sure to check it out on Meet-the-Teacher night. Visa and Mastercard will be accepted from parents. Think about your favourite books and authors - they should all be there. Looking forward to seeing you there! Wishing all our Lorna Jackson families a Happy Thanksgiving.

Dear Parents & Guardians,
Your children will be coming home with fliers for the book fair. Remember to fill in the ballot on the last page for a chance to win $25.00 in books as well as $25 in books, for their homeroom teacher. We will accept payment in cash. Credit card payments will be accepted when parents come in. See you next week. Lets make this a fair to remember.

Scholastic Book Fair

The Scholastic Book Fair is right around the corner! It will run from Tuesday, October 9, 2012 through Friday, October 12, 2012. It will wrap up Friday afternoon at the end of lunch recess (1:35 p.m.). Make time to stop by and support this event. Read to Succeed!!
